Life is complicated enough.
Therapy shouldn’t be.
Honouring your story, supporting your healing
Meet your therapistLynne Harford, BA, MSW, RSW, D.VATI
Registered Social Worker, Psychotherapist & Art Therapist
Therapy is a place to slow down, be heard, and make sense of what you’re carrying.
I offer counselling and psychotherapy services for teens and adults (individuals and couples) who are navigating the realities of everyday life, stress, transitions, relationships, loss, uncertainty, or simply the feeling that something isn’t sitting right. My work is grounded, relational, and compassionate, with a focus on honouring your story and supporting meaningful healing.
With over 25 years of experience in the field of counselling, including extensive work in the area of physical and emotional trauma, I bring depth, intutitive insight, and perspective to the therapy process. This experience allows me to meet you with compasionate care, a high degree of clinical skill, and respect for the complexity and uniqueness of your lived experiences.
This is not one-size-fits-all therapy. It’s warm, thoughtful, collaborative care that meets you where you are and creates a safe space for reflection, meaningful change and most of all, healing.

Philosophy of Care
My work is rooted in the belief that being human is both complex and deeply meaningful.
Many of us move through life carrying experiences we haven’t fully had space to process, learning to adapt, to push through, to hold it all together. At times, we may find ourselves feeling disconnected from who we are, uncertain in our choices, or questioning whether we are enough.
In our work together, we slow things down.
We make space to notice what is present, to gently explore your inner world, and to understand the patterns, stories, and experiences that have shaped you. From there, we begin to create something different, not by forcing change, but by building awareness, strengthening your relationship with yourself, and supporting your capacity to respond rather than react.
My approach is integrative and grounded in both evidence-based practices and a deep respect for your lived experience. I draw from a range of therapeutic modalities, always guided by what feels most supportive, accessible, and meaningful for you.
My Approach-
A space to gently explore the patterns between your thoughts, emotions, and behaviours. Together, we work to bring awareness to what may be keeping you stuck, and to create more supportive ways of relating to yourself.
-
Practical tools to help you navigate intense emotions, build distress tolerance, and strengthen your relationships, while learning to stay present with yourself in the process.
-
A supportive and paced approach to processing past experiences that may still be impacting you. This work honours your nervous system, prioritizing safety, regulation, and integration.
-
A forward-looking approach that helps us notice what is already working, even in small ways. From there, we build toward meaningful, manageable change.
-
Rather than focusing on what’s missing, we centre on what is already within you, your resilience, your capacity, and the ways you have learned to navigate your life.
-
A creative way of exploring and expressing what may be difficult to put into words. This can open space for insight, emotion, and connection in a different way.
-
An opportunity to explore the stories you carry about yourself, how they were formed, and how they might be gently reshaped in ways that feel more aligned with who you are becoming.
Stories of Change
Reflections shared by individuals I’ve had the privilege of working with.
"I met Lynne at one of the most challenging and pinnacle times in my life. Lynne quickly established a caring and therapeutic environment with her calm and understanding demeanour. She validated how I felt in all situations; while providing strategies to help me through challenging circumstances. I’ve had Lynne as one of my biggest supporters for over 15 years now, and continue to benefit from what she has taught me. Her compassion and empathy are unmatched, and I’m so thankful for her."

I still use so many of the tools you taught me to get through my hard days and you definitely motivated me to be the best version of myself. Thank you for all you do and all that you've continued to do for others, it really means the world."

Shared with Permission"I met with Lynne for many years starting when I was young and again as a teen. Since the beginning, she helped me work around my daily anxieties, where I went from not being able to go outside for more than an hour, to now wanting to make new plans and not being afraid to get to know new people. I was also someone who would say "I don't know" when asked what I was feeling, but I now understand and can express myself when I know something is upsetting. I was able to work through mental challenges with someone who truly cared about helping me get better and being my best self. Therapy has helped me live more freely in every aspect of my life."
